Boost Your Writing With Welford Writes

October 17, 2007

This would be a follow up post on my previous article about improving your writing skills. But, before I continue, let me first apologize to all of my readers because I rare my posts in last few days. Reason is my regular job which took me over 16 hours daily while preparing one ongoing project for release. I hope you’ll take this in consider and find the place in your hearts for forgiveness.

Now, let’s get back to the subject.

If you are writing a blog, and unless you are damn good or even professional writer, you’ll notice that your blog is filled up with similar phrases or sentences. And what’s worst, those sentences probably aren’t looking as pretty as those written by professional writers or journalists. Don’t hate your self because of that, because it’s something to be expected from an ordinary blogger, like you and me. Lucky for us, there are people professionally involved into writing which are willing to help us improve our writing skills, mostly for free.

One of those people is John Welford of Welfordwrites. As he explains in his blog, he will help people with their writing by taking their text and editing it, by which he means, sorting out all their mistakes in grammar, phrasing and everything else. You should check his blog and actually see what he has in mind. Few examples of his assistance show how brilliantly he’s doing it. He offers his help for free unless it’s something more extensive in which case you’ll need to check his website.

Anyhow, take some time to visit and don’t forget to bookmark his page, because you most certainly will come in situation which will require his services. Since he’ll probably do it for free it would be real shame to waste it.

Again, thank you all for visiting. If you have any questions or comments please leave them below. I sure would love to hear your opinion about John’s blog.

Until next time have a great life.

Make Money Online With Attractive Headlines

October 15, 2007

Check one. Check two. Testing…

Thanks to great post written by Simon at Yeepage Journal, I’ve decided to wrote this article and put his claims to the test. Since you are reading it it’s redundant to say that he made his point.

He says that attention grabbing title is the key of getting people to read the actual writing. In his article, How To Write A Headline That Will Grab Your Readers Attention, he points to couple of different techniques to get this done. And, this guy actually gets the taste of it with one of his posts which made over 1200 hits after being submitted to StumbleUpon. If you are really interested to learn more about it fell free to read the whole article

Also, don’t be surprised if you would find a bunch of other interesting stuff over there. After all, Simon is running a distinguished blog.

Thanks again for visiting and have a great day.

How Take The Benefit From Your Free WordPress Blog

October 11, 2007

Maybe you don’t know, but WordPress won’t allow you to use any sort of advertisements on your blog, if your blog is hosted with their free service. So, at the startup, basic source of income from blogging is withheld to you. Considering this, I was wondering if there are any benefits, you might get from your free WordPress blog, besides letting people know about your existence. I was searching around the net, asking for help, but haven’t received any proper answer. Until now.

Actually, it wasn’t a straight answer to my question but better said, a moment of enlighten. I was checking one of my favorite bloggs, Bryan Clark’s OneMansGoal, and there was one interesting article, Make Money Online With Multiple Blogs – Free!, a guest post written by Joe from BONTB. You are free to go and read the whole article, but I want to draw your attention to one specific part of that article which gave me the idea about how to take some benefit from your free WordPress blog. Here is the interesting part:

“…As many of you know iPod Touch just came out. So what I did was write a couple of articles about it on my personal blog and just waited for Google Analytics to show me what keywords have been used to access those articles. I notice two keywords popping up quite frequently: “ipod touch tricks and ipod touch tips” …”

Bam! It hit me like a stroke of lightning. If you still don’t get it, here is the thing: when you write free blog at WordPress, you are able to check your blog’s traffic stats, and among other things, those stats will show how many visits your blog made from specific search query (go to your Dashboard, click on Blog Stats, and at the bottom of that page is Search Engine Terms link). Beside WordPress Dashboard, you could use Google Analytics, as described in noted article, to watch those stats. And, beside WordPress blogs, this could be used for any other blog, no mater which platform it runs on.

Next thing to do would be to find the most often used search query and base the subject of your new money making blog on that term. Easiest thing to do would be to use Blogger’s free service, create a blog, ad advertisements to that blog and wait for money to come in. I guess that I don’t have to remind you that you’ll also need to maintain that blog as any other if you want to make it successful.

Anyhow, I find this to be a great opportunity, don’t you?

If you would have any questions or comments about this article, please leave them below and I’ll be more then happy to respond.

Until my next post, have a great life.

Google AdSense In A Nutshell

October 10, 2007

Last few days people are writing a lot about Google AdSense. Most of them complaining about their service, but also, some of them praising it. Anyhow, I’ve decided to summarize all those conclusions into one single article so you wouldn’t get lost in the sea of very similar posts.

About Google AdSense

If you don’t know already, AdSense is Google’s service which allows you to make money by displaying their ads on your website (AdSense for content) or to provide Google’s search to your site’s visitors (AdSense for search). The program is free, and combines pay-per-click and pay-per-impression advertising – meaning you get paid for valid clicks on the ads on your site or search results pages as well as impressions on your content pages. Price for each click or impression varies, depending on how Google calculates it at that moment. Because the ads are related to what your users are looking for on your site, you’ll finally have a way to both monetize and enhance your content pages.

How to join

Registration procedure is quite simple and straight forward. All you need to have is email address and a website URL. If you don’t have your own hosted website and domain name, you can use a free one at or After you fill their signup form, you’ll need to wait couple of days until your account gets approved. After that, you are ready to roll.

How to integrate it with your website

When it comes to integration with your website content, there are different opinions around the community. Some people suggest that AdSense should be blended with the content of your site and some people suggest the oposite – to make them stand out. But, all of them agree on one – they came up with their conclusions only after certain time of experimenting and determining which way brings them more money. So, that’s what I would suggest to all of you – experiment and find out which method brings you more money and then stick to that method.

Pros and cons

PROS – Almost anybody can join. They have couple of different payment methods which are suitable for almost every part of the world. You don’t need to have your own hosted website or domain name to use it. Your website’s traffic size doesn’t matter. They have probably the largest number of advertisers in the world. Customizable ad types usable with any type of site design. You can use more then one website with one AdSense account.

CONS – You don’t have a clue how much you could get paid for specific ad. You shouldn’t use ads from other networks together with theirs. Your account could be ceased without any notice or without any clear explanation (thus, most of these cases happened because people were not respecting their TOS). You could make more money with some other advertising networks or affiliate programs.

Conclusion If you are thinking about either to use Google AdSense on your website or not, I suggest you to give it a try. It cost you nothing, especially if you are just starting up. Eventually, while your website grows, you’ll be able to test some other sources of income and decide if you would stick with AdSense in the future or with somebody else. But important thing to have in mind is while using it, don’t abuse it. Google, being one of the most powerful companies out there, do have the resources to make your life hard or better said, the life of your Internet business. You can read about all of those who were playing around with AdSense and finally, all of them were punished in few different ways. Was it by decreasing their PageRank, ceasing them from Google’s search listings or removing their accounts and make them lost everything they earn by that moment, it sure wasn’t worth the game. Like in any other business, you need to do it respectably.

October 8, 2007

Another great thing is coming from StumbleUpon in a form of its Exchange Train. It’s supposed to give some boost in traffic to everyone who joins it. I got mine original list from Yeepage Journal whose article about StumbleUpon Exchange Train made me do this.

******* Start Copying Here *******

Here are the rules:

1. If you don’t have a StumbleUpon account signup for one, if you do have a Stumbleupon account download the toolbar (it will make this much easier!)

What To Write About When You Have Nothing To Write About

October 7, 2007

I’m going to use this article to create a reminder, primarily for me, but then for all of you involved in blog writing. As already said so many times, if you are a blogger you need to keep nearly constant posting frequency, if you don’t want to disappoint your readers. Truth is that this is sometimes really hard to achieve. Experienced bloggers have found the way out of this trouble. I’ve done a small research on the subject and below you have compiled list of hints, about what to write when you have nothing to write about.

  • Check your comments and get idea for new post from there.
  • Write about why you have nothing to say.
  • Think towards the future, because everyone loves a little speculation.
  • Check out other bloggs in your community and try to find interesting subject to write about.
  • Create a contest.
  • Find interesting book, read it and write review about it.
  • Compile a list of links to interesting posts you have found and wrap it up with small introduction text.
  • Create a survey – ask a question.
  • If you happen to know someone from public life, do an interview with that person.
  • Find interesting article in local newspapers and write it in your own words (or just copy it).
  • Look in your archives and do a remake of one of your old articles.
  • Check your email and look for interesting questions from your readers.
  • Look at YouTube or any other video sharing site, find interesting video, post it and comment about it.
  • Find interesting website, explore it and write review about it.
  • Post interesting picture and if you feel you should, wrap it up with some text.
  • Create a Top list of your choice of pictures, videos, jokes, quotes etc.

I am going to update this list every once awhile with new ideas. Some of ideas are taken from other bloggs and far now, those are following:

StumbleUpon – Definitely A Good Choice

October 6, 2007

Today I’ve finally found the time to download and install StumbleUpon’s toolbar. Far now I’ve read other people opinions about this service, or better said, social bookmarking in a new suite, and I was assuming its probably just another copycat in large sea of similar attempts. How surprised I was only couple of minutes after actually laying my hands on it. Yeah, it really does rock.

There is a bunch of articles about this service out there, so I won’t repeat their content here. Everything you need to know about StumbleUpon can be found on their website.

Beside common usage and all those standard services, what I’ve liked the most is the ability to surf and discover new websites without using any of search engines than simply clicking the button on StumbleUpon’s toolbar. What’s worst, first dozen of websites stumbled (how they like to say for visited) were amazing. I can’t wait to continue using it tomorrow. And you don’t get just any websites, than websites belonging to categories you have previously selected and approved. From now on, it’s one of my primary tools.

Enough said, go there, register, install their toolbar and start to use this service. Believe me you’ll be thanking me afterward.

And that would be all for tonight. Thank you all for visiting and please leave your comments because they are much appreciated.

Until my next post, have a great life.
